During CBGA2022 the following excursions (registration at the CBGA2022 desk) and cultural events (on-line tickets) are offered outside of the regular program:
Visit to the oldest still operating monastery in Europe “St. Athanasius”, personally founded by St. Athanasius in the IV century. It is followed by a visit to the newest museum in Chirpan - Gema Svyat Paleontological Museum and the History Museum. Artifacts related to the Karasura late Roman fortress could be seen in the Historical Museum. For dessert, a visit to the Midalidare Estate winery with specially selected wines for the Congress of the Carpatho-Balkan Geological Association in the village of Mogilovo.

Special price for the XXII International Congress of the Carpathian-Balkan Geological Association for one tour participant: 60 euros. Includes transportation costs, entrance fees to the sites visited and wine tasting. For an additional fee, it is possible to buy products of the winery.

The tour duration varies from 2 to 3 hours. The walking tour starts in the center of the oldest living city in Europe and aims to reveal the energy of the city, which is the Cultural Capital of Bulgaria, and in 2019 it was also declared the European Capital of Culture. The tour starts from the Western Propylaea of Roman Philippopolis, passes through the pedestrianized Main Street of Plovdiv and traces the development of the city from prehistoric times through Thracians, Romans, Byzantines, Slavs, Proto-Bulgarians, Latins, Ottomans and reaches our time. The highlight of the tour is Old Plovdiv. The tour ends in the iconic Kapana district, where tour participants can immerse themselves in the spirit of the city and try a delicious meal or a drink on your own.
Minimum number of tourists: 10. Recommended number of tourists in a group: 20.
Special price for the XXII International Congress of the Carpathian-Balkan Geological Association for one tour participant: 10 euros. The price includes the tour guide service. Personal expenses are not included in the price.

On September 7, 2022 at 8 p.m., the performance QUEEN: A NIGHT AT THE OPERA will be held at the Plovdiv Ancient Theater. Tickets priced from 11 to 21 euros.
On September 10, 2022 at 8 p.m., a concert of a pop and classic music singer ORLIN GORANOV will be held at the Open Air Theater “Orpheus”. Tickets priced from 8 to 13 euros.
On September 9th and 10th, 2022 at 8 p.m., concert of Wiener Symphoniker will be held at the Plovdiv Ancient Theater. Tickets priced from 40 to 60 euros.
